The LIES a Husband Addicted to Porn Believes

I am no expert about what a husband thinks or believes when it comes to porn, but I do have a few (okay, maybe more than just a few...)  ideas due to the fact that my husband and I have dealt with this for many years.  The TRUTH is what can bring freedom but the lies have to be recognized and exposed in order for TRUTH to be revealed.

The LIES .........
  • You think it's just about you.
  • You think it is harmless.
  • You think it will spice up your sex life.
  • You think it's not hurting anyone.
  • You think it is not cheating.
  • You think it will not affect your marriage, your family, your job.
  • You think she should just get over it.
  • You think that because you are not with a woman physically, that it makes viewing porn okay.
  • You thought that once you got married, you would no longer have the desire to look at porn.
  • You think that you can watch videos of nude woman performing all kinds of sexual acts and still be satisfied with your wife.
  • You think you will never get caught.
  • You think your wife will be able to trust you again just because you said you were sorry.
  • You think it is okay to take your wife out to dinner and check out every attractive woman in the room.
  • You think it is okay to objectify God's creation to satisfy your own selfish desires.
  • You think the women who perform for you via porn really enjoy what they are doing.
  • You think that looking at porn has NOTHING to do with your outbursts of anger and your tendency to withdraw from those who love you.
  • You think you are not a sex addict, that you don't have a problem.
  • You think your wife should perform all kinds of sexual acts like the porn stars...then you would be happy.
  • You think that your addiction with porn ends there.  You would never actually have sex with other women.
  • You think it is okay to go to strip bars, your wife should just understand.... it's a "guy" thing.
  • You think that your wife should prance around in the nude in front of you and not be embarrassed to allow you to see her not so perfect body even though she knows you love the look of the porn stars.
  • You think one more look won't hurt.
  • You think your marriage is great, even though your wife cries herself to sleep at night.
  • You think she will never leave you.
  • You think if you just go to church, get involved, she will not suspect a thing.
  • You think that it is okay to masturbate as long as you are no longer viewing porn.
  • You think you can be delivered from this addiction on your own.
  • You think if you let the truth be known, you will be judged harshly.
  • You think that no one else in your circle of friends struggles with this like you do.
  • You think that you have been bound for too long to ever be free from this addiction.
  • You think your wife will leave you if you humbly confess your sins to her.
  • You think God will not and/or cannot deliver you.
  • You think you can continue with your porn addiction and have a long, happy, life with your wife.
  • You think.........................
What LIES are YOU believing?  Can I encourage you to Seek the TRUTH, walk in TRUTH, and allow THE TRUTH to bring you freedom.   My husband tells me that the freedom he has now is worth hanging onto.  To not have to live in shame, to not have to worry about hiding things or covering his tracks.  To not have to lie.  To be able to have a real relationship with Jesus.  There IS hope for you and every other man who has believed the lies.  Will you seek out THE TRUTH or will you allow your marriage and family to be destroyed?
